Aerosol Deodorant Can Save The Day!

Yes, we all want to save the planet, but on your wedding day aerosol deodorant is a must have!

Most bridal gowns are layer upon layer of satin, silk, lace, and tulle topped off with embroidery, beading and Swarovski crystals creating a blanket of insulation holding in your body heat. Add your nerves on "the biggest day of your life" and you will sweat like a pig be hot! So why not just stick to you tried and true deodorant? Well you can start out your day with it, but after hair and make-up and before being poured into that stunning thermal blanket dress you have dreamed all your life about wearing a second coat with aerosol will have you feeling fresh. But, don't stop there! Under you breast, between your legs, and your buns will be thankful for their share of the freshness! How about your feet? Yes! Don't forget your feet! Your shoes will fit better and smell better at the end of the night. Keep the can handy through out the night, there is a lot to be said for a little freshen up after the ceremony or the middle of the reception!

Degree is my personal favorite, but you can use any brand that works for you.

It's all about the bling!

There is something about planning a wedding that can make even the most down to earth and casual girl's start to dream about the bling!

I love diamonds and pearls!

The ROSBERY PEARLS They belonged to Hannah, Countess of Rosbery nee de Rothschild. She had a jewellery collection that was admired throughout all the Royal Courts in Europe during the second half of the XIX Century. This pearl and diamond bracelet, brooch and tiara are one of the finest pieces of Victorian jewellery ever made. In a private collection for the last 140 years they will probably be acquired by an important museum.

This pearl and diamond tiara, brooch, and bracelet is known as the Rosebery Pearls. They belonged to Hannah, Countess of Rosebery nee de Rothschild. She had a jewelery collection that was admired throughout all the Royal Courts in Europe during the second half of the Nineteenth Century.

The tiara alone boasts 13 natural saltwater pearls - six button shaped ones ringed with diamonds and seven pear shaped pearls dangling from tear drop diamond surmounts.

The Rosebery Pearls where offered for auction at Christie's in London on June 8, 2011. The famous suite of jewels sold for  UK £1,738,500 or approximately 2.71640625 million U.S. dollars!

A girl can dream!

It's a Nice Day For a White Wedding!

What color will your wedding be? Did you pick your theme to fit your colors or your colors to fit your theme?

White on white can be both!

The meaning of white is purity, innocence, wholeness and completion. We think of white as perfection. The psychology of white is that of new beginnings, wiping the slate clean, so to speak. It is the blank page waiting to be written upon. Waiting for your fairy tale to unfold...

A bouquet of all white flower is timeless yet modern and today. This bouquet of crystal studded Stephanotis blossoms, white Roses, white Calla Lilies, and crystal accents is classically beautiful.

Favors that your guests will want

Having trouble choosing a favor that fits your theme and your guests will love?
You are not alone!

You want your guests to know that you appreciate them being a part of your day and supporting you on the journey you are about to start as husband and wife. No doubt, you will be writing thank you notes in the weeks to come, but your first chance to say thank you is the favor.

One of the cutest trends in favors is mini pies baked in jar.

Simple enough for the DIY bride to do a few days before or maybe you are lucky enough to have family members that want to pitch in.  Put the recipe on the lid so your guest can bake up the memory of your day.

Got milk? Add a little carton of milk and send your guest off at the end of the evening with that warm feeling that only comfort food gives you!

Cake Day

Ever since I was a child I have loved wedding cake! It is one of my favorite parts of a wedding. So when it came to my own cake I wanted to be the one to design it. I searched my memories of all the amazing cake I have seen and then I search the web and found an endless array of dazzling confections.

Mine started with an idea and a sketch...

My sketch was then turned over to the talented culinary team at Disney's Grand Floridian Bakery. Where my dream became a dream come true!

First Dance Friday

Choosing the right music is often one of the hardest decisions to make for your wedding day and even more often put off to the last minute. The hunt for the perfect song is enough to stress out even the coolest bride. But if you choose one that is meaningful to you, and makes you happy, the first dance will be a dream.

You can never go wrong with a classic. Etta James sings At Last. The lyrics are as beautiful as her silky voice.

Thursday is now Fleur-sday!

Each Thursday you will get to know a new flower. We are getting started with one of my favorites:

The Hydrangea!

Once considered by many as Grandmother's old-time flower, Hydrangea are one of the most popular flowers used in wedding arrangements today.

Lavish clusters of four petaled flowers form globe like flower heads. They are available in a beautiful range of colors from shades of blue, purple, and pink to green and white.

It is said that Hydrangea symbolize heartfelt emotions.

Congratulations to Cindy and Carl

Carl asked and Cindy said "yes"!

Congratulations to a great couple!

It was just yesterday that Carl proposed, but the planning is in full swing. The wedding will be held  in October in Michigan at Myth Golf Course http://www.golfthemyth.com/.

The ceremony is to be outside overlooking the greens. This will be so romantic and beautiful with the trees full of fall colors.

The celebration after is to be held in Myth's beautiful banquet hall that has panoramic views.

Cindy knows what colors she wants, black and bright pink, and the feel she wants for the wedding. The brides maids and beautiful pink dresses have already been chosen. Cindy is on top of it all! She does have her hands full thought, she is living in Orlando and planning an upcoming move to Michigan. I am very excited to be working with Cindy and Carl! We will all be in Florida in a few weeks and I have so many ideas to share with them. I can't wait!

Up-date on the Construction Around Disney's Wedding Pavilion

This past weekend my DH and I went down to the Orlando area for our annual Super bowl Party trip. We have gone to the party at Miller's Orlando Ale House now for 5 years and then "WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD" to see the Super bowl MVP!
That aside, I thought I might give you an up-date on the construction going on around Disney's Wedding Pavilion.
In December, when I was there doing Lisa and Kevin's wedding flowers, I took a break and went for a peek at the construction. Disney had set up a photo mural blocking the construction area from the pavilion. To me it looked hokey, but kudos to the effort!

I'm happy to say the mural is now down and has been replaced with a "bolder" retention wall and lush tropical plants. I think it is a vast improvement!

I'm not sure if this is a  permanent  installation, but as least for the time being it is attractive and does a good job of blocking out the work being done!

So who wants to see a pic of this year MVP Eli Manning?
Yes! He gets to ride down Main Street USA sitting next to Mickey Mouse! By the way Eli was the first MVP, that we've seen, to be on time for this honor!

Hope next year I get to see one of my beloved Brownies in that seat! Go Browns!

New Years Resolutions

Happy New Year!

I am not big on making resolutions, but this year I am! In my last post I shared some pictures of Lisa and Kevin's wedding. I had planned to take a tun of picture to share, but in the end I have very few. So for this year...
I resolve to take pictures of my work.

I made this bouquet of orange, cream and yellow roses and sunset calla lilies. I removed the stamen from the callas and replaced them with cystals. The wedding took place in a lush garden overlooking the shores of Lake Erie.

The bouquets I did for my own wedding...

The ring baerer "pillow" is one of my favorite parts of our wedding. I did not want a traditional pillow
and was so happy with this little wicker box and beautiful red rose. I used red pearls to make a hidden Mickey on the front bow.

Here are a few other pictures of flowers I have done...
